Unsatisfied – Finding Contentment in a Discontented World – Ann Sullivan

 

Do you have a sense of “contentment?” How do you find contentment with so much going wrong in society today?

Well, my guest, Ann Sullivan, has written a book, coincidently, that addresses the very topic of which I speak. Amen!  “Unsatisfied – Finding Contentment in a Discontented World” is going to help you to sort through those frustrations.  The frustration of drama. The frustration of Judgment. The frustration of Fear. The frustration of Comparison. In her book, Ann leads you on the path to genuine contentment through Hope. Through Purpose. Through Fulfillment. In her book, Ann DARES you to believe that God is closer than you can think or imagine. She helps you to sort through the reasons for unhappiness and frustrations in your life. And she helps you trust God in finding fulfillment and genuine contentment.

Ann is a researcher who specializes in anxiety disorders. She graduated from Northern Illinois University where she studied education, history, and philosophy, but it was in the trenches that Ann gained her most valuable insights.

After battling a panic disorder for 13 years, Ann was diagnosed and treated for a medical condition that had been fueling her panic attacks. She regained control of her life and began helping others find their own path of healing from anxiety in both their personal and professional lives.

Help me welcome to the program, Ann Sullivan!  Ann, thank you so much for joining us today!

Ok, the first question I always ask our guests, Ann, is this. Other than that short bio I just read, tell us in your own words, “Who is Ann Sullivan?”

You mention comparing yourself with friends on Facebook. Looking at all the posts of their wonderful vacations and all of that. How does that lead us to a point of being frustrated with our lives?

You’re a speaker. And you have shared, in your book, how you have been scheduled to speak to a group about contentment. But at the same time, you were struggling with depression. Is that how you got the idea of writing this book?

How did all of that “hold you back” from what you felt you were called to do?

How is that believers…believers in Christ and all of the blessings that are supposed to be ours, how is it that believers are struggling with discontentment?

In today’s society, discontentment is basically becoming the new “normal.” It’s all of the news. It’s all over the shows we watch. Everybody is envious of what others have and are frustrated because they “don’t have” what others have. How does your book address this situation?

Can you give us things to watch out for concerning our own life? Things we should be aware of concerning us falling down the hole of discontentment? Signs, symptoms, etc?

I know the short answer to this next question is “Trust God” and all the little “Christian quotes” and cute little sayings – but how can someone truly overcome these thoughts and feelings?

What about other people we may know? People we can see who may be struggling in this area. How can we help them?

About TS Wright
TS Wright is the President of Thend Mission and the author of the God Centered Concept. He is also the voice of the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and the God Centered Concept Podcast, as well as the host of the God Centered Concept TV Show. For the past thirty-three years, he has been involved in Christian ministry, including teaching and coaching in both public and private high schools and colleges. Throughout his career, he has worked with students, athletes, and adults from all walks of life.

Wright has engaged with numerous Christian organizations, including but not limited to CRU, FCA, and various outreach and church-affiliated ministries. Hello. My name is TS Wright, and I am the voice of the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and author/TV host of the God Centered Concept.

For the past 33 years I have been involved in Christian ministry. Ranging from ministry, teaching and coaching in both public and private high schools and college, I have worked with students, athletes and adults from all walks of life. I have been involved with a host of Christian organizations included but not limited to CRU, FCA and other outreach & church affiliated ministries. Also being ordained in Christian ministry and being both a biblical and historical scholar I have focused on Discipleship, Biblical truth, prophecy & historical theology. I have also authored 4 books, a journal and a devotional series which are all now in the editing phase.

In 2003 and 2004 the Lord cast a series of visions on my life as to what would become the God Centered Concept.

In 2016, the Lord called me to start writing.

In 2019, He cast another series of visions that has led me to now.

In 2023, I was led to starting Podcasting and through divine intervention found Pastor Bob. I became a frequent guest speaker on the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and being led by the Lord I have taken ownership of the Podcast.

I welcome all of you who are a part of the Kingdom Cross Roads community as well as everyone who is just joining our community as we continue to work to advance the Gospel and spark a Great Harvest. By expanding our message to the NOW TV Network it is our prayer that we can maintain the same level of quality messages and engaging conversations that you have been accustomed to.
