Catalyst Coaching – Russell De Vos pt 2

Catalyst Coaching

Russell De Vos pt 2

In society today, we often find ourselves being pulled in so many different directions, we don’t really know which way is the right way. We tend to put our attention on the things screaming at us the loudest. Using the old adage of “the squeaky wheel gets the oil.”

If that sounds like you… if you keep telling yourself that you need to prioritize better. If you know, deep down on the inside, that you are letting your relationship with God slip… If you are feeling sense of guilt or regret because you are so busy and tired all of the time and the most precious things in life, your family and your relationship with God, is being put on the back burner… if any of this sounds even remotely familiar…then you will want to pay attention today!

My guest today has experienced the highs and the lows of success. To coin the old phrase from “Wide World of Sports” (which many younger people have never heard of) which says the “Thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.” My guest today has taken that ride.

Russell De Vos was a pastor of a great and thriving church in Bend. Oregon. Starting with just a handful of people, it quickly grew into 1500 people in just three years-time. Praise God! But, with that “thrill of victory” soon came the “agony of defeat.”

Distracted by the ever increasing pressures of success, he soon succumbed to the inevitable defeat. Not focusing on God, not focusing on his family, he ended up losing the church and he almost lost his family. But that was not the end of the story…

Out of that experience, he now helps other men who struggle through the same things he did. Today, he and his wife, Heather, enjoy each other more than ever. They are serving together and helping others who are going the struggles they had to endure. He is a Certified Life Coach, Teacher and Speaker with both the John Maxwell Team and the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching and is the founder of “The Catalyst Coaching” program.

Do these things just “happen” or is there a pattern of events, a pattern of habits that start someone down the path towards a fall or a failure?

Share with us some of the ways someone can protect themselves from these types of mindsets or patterns that will trip them up?

What you are saying is that, after failing…after a huge fall, a huge failing in life, in marriage and, in your case, in ministry and before God, there is hope. There is a way to get back up in life. Can you walk us through some of those steps?

In your coaching program, how do you minister these precepts to other men who may have already fallen and are grasping at straws right now, hoping – PRAYING – for a way back?

What Words of encouragement can you share with someone listening to us, right now, who may be experiencing some of the things you have shared with us today?

Russell, this all sounds so fascinating. As we talked off the air before, I can relate to just about everything you have shared with us. I am still, to this day, astounded that God can take a “mess and turn it into a message” of Hope that can only come through Him.

If someone wanted to reach out to you, to get more information on “The Catalyst Coaching Program” or to ask you a question or maybe to do an interview such as this, how can they do that? How can they get in touch with you?

Folks, the Bible is very clear in Romans 3:23, “All of sinned and come short of the Glory of God.” Although pastors are and should be held to a higher standard, remember, we are all humans and have the ability to make wrong decisions, too. Just like the average person out there.

George Patton once said it is not “How high a man goes that determines his success. But how high bounces after taking a fall.”

If you are struggling with some of the things that Russell and I have discussed today – or other things for that matter as we have really only brushed the surface here – you need to reach out to Russell De Vos right now, today.

About the Podcast

Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast
Awakening the Church for the Great Harvest one message at a time
Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast is a Bible-centered program devoted to helping believers understand Scripture, discern the times, and faithfully navigate the spiritual, historical, and prophetic crossroads confronting the Church and the world.

Hosted by TS Wright (an author, biblical scholar, and Apostolic and Prophetic Teacher) each episode explores biblical theology, church history, prophecy, apologetics, Israel, world events, visions, dreams, and the unfolding purposes of God. By connecting the ancient truths of Scripture with the challenges of the present age, Kingdom Cross Roads offers thoughtful teaching and meaningful conversations designed to strengthen faith, sharpen spiritual discernment, and deepen understanding of the Kingdom of God.

The podcast examines the teachings and declarations of Jesus Christ, the messages to the seven churches in Revelation, the historical development of Christianity, the prophetic significance of nations and empires, and the spiritual condition of the modern Church. Episodes also explore influential biblical figures, overlooked historical events, ancient Jewish and Christian writings, and the remarkable ways in which Scripture, history, and prophecy intersect.

Kingdom Cross Roads is for listeners who desire more than surface-level inspiration. It is for those seeking serious biblical instruction, reliable historical context, prophetic insight, and a clearer understanding of where the Church has been, where it stands today, and where it may be headed.

At every crossroads, truth matters. Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast calls believers to search the Scriptures, discern the hour, remain faithful to Jesus Christ, advance the Kingdom of God, and prepare for what lies ahead.

"Now go forth in total surrender to the ONE who owns and reigns over all of creation and let the Great Harvest, begin!"

TS Wright

Hello. My name is TS Wright, and I am the voice of the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and author/TV host of the God Centered Concept.

For the past 33 years I have been involved in Christian ministry. Ranging from ministry, teaching and coaching in both public and private high schools and college, I have worked with students, athletes and adults from all walks of life. I have been involved with a host of Christian organizations included but not limited to CRU, FCA and other outreach & church affiliated ministries. Also being ordained in Christian ministry and being both a biblical and historical scholar I have focused on Discipleship, Biblical truth, prophecy & historical theology. I have also authored 4 books, a journal and a devotional series which are all now in the editing phase.

In 2003 and 2004 the Lord cast a series of visions on my life as to what would become the God Centered Concept.

In 2016, the Lord called me to start writing.

In 2019, He cast another series of visions that has led me to now.

In 2023, I was led to starting Podcasting and through divine intervention found Pastor Bob. I became a frequent guest speaker on the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and being led by the Lord I have taken ownership of the Podcast.

I welcome all of you who are a part of the Kingdom Cross Roads community as well as everyone who is just joining our community as we continue to work to advance the Gospel and spark a Great Harvest. By expanding our message to the NOW TV Network it is our prayer that we can maintain the same level of quality messages and engaging conversations that you have been accustomed to. We thank you for your commitment to this community and we ask for your support and prayers as we strive to glorify God in all that He calls us to do.
