Everyone has a story to tell. Think about it. At work, you tell stories to make a point. At home, you tell stories to make a point. At church, your pastor tells stories to make a point. Jesus told stories to make a point.

But, few people master the art of storytelling. After our program today, you will be able to take great forward strides, because my guest today helps people to do just that.

Many people struggle with the idea of speaking from a stage or on video. They worry about how they will look, how they will sound, what can they talk about?

Brenden Kumarasamy is the founder of “MasterTalk,” a YouTube series dedicated to the art of public speaking. Brenden believes anyone can become confident public speakers and storytellers. Breneden is also the founder of “RockStarCommunicator.com” From students to CEO’s Brenden teaches you how to master your speeches, presentations and interview and podcasts, etc.

Where did the idea for “MasterTalk” come from?

How many individual episodes have you created? Do you know?

What is the biggest challenge that most people struggle with when doing public speaking?

We’ve all heard about starting off with a joke or a funny story when giving a talk. Is that something you recommend?

You’ve got a program where you discuss the importance of the first 10 seconds of your presentation. Can you explain the importance of those 10 seconds for us?

The last time we talked, the COVID lockdowns were in full force. This meant everything moved from in person to virtual events and you were helping us understand a few steps to help with that transition.

Has things opened back up for in person events or are we still mainly dealing with virtual speaking right now?

What do you believe the next six months to a year will hold for public speaking opportunities?

In our presentations, is the delivery or the content more important to focus on?

What about books? What books do you recommend some read for help in public speaking?

Another area that jumped out at me was your use of a “random word exercise.” Can you explain how that works and give us an example?

You have a phrase, “Prioritize to maximize.” Can you explain that for us?

One of your videos talks about “the endless gaze.” I have learned how to use pauses for effect in speaking – but the “endless gaze” is priceless. Can you explain that for our listeners and how to use it in a presentation?
