Speaker B:Welcome to the Kingdom Crossroads podcast.
Speaker B:Today we are so blessed you're joining us.
Speaker B:Have you ever had a moment where you were called to step out, but something inside of you whispered, who do you think you are?
Speaker B:And you listen to that voice instead of the one God gave you?
Speaker B: Well, Jesus said in John: Speaker B:But that imposter syndrome, that voice of doubt, that's actually a thief and it steals your confidence and purpose and your peace.
Speaker B:Today, coach Mandy Marie Eldridge is here to show us how to shut that voice down and step into the abundant life we were created to have.
Speaker B:Amen.

Speaker B:Welcome to the program Mandy Marie Eldridge.
Speaker B:Mandy, it is a blessing to finally get you on the program today.
Speaker B:Thank you for your time.
Speaker C:Thank you, Pastor Bob.
Speaker C:I am so excited to be here.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Now, the first question I always start with is this.
Speaker B:Other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, who is Mandy Marie Aldridge?
Speaker C:Well, very succinctly, I am a woman whose mess has become her message.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:And how long have you been doing this?
Speaker C:Well, I started uncovering and figuring out my mess 15 years ago.
Speaker C:I have been a life coach for 13 years.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker C:It's been a little while.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:So you're just not a flash in the pan, you know, two weeks ago.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:So let's start at the beginning.
Speaker B:Now, you've been open about your struggles with the imposter syndrome.
Speaker B:Can you share a moment in your journey where that mindset almost held you back and how you pushed through it?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Well, there are many moments when that has happened.
Speaker C:But the first time that I really remember it happening, like really strongly was when I was overcoming depression and I knew that there was something there to share with lots of people and God pressed it upon my heart.
Speaker C:Like there's people that want to hear this, that will be ready for this.
Speaker C:And I resisted and resisted and resisted for like three years.
Speaker C:And thank heavens, God is very patient.
Speaker C:But that imposter syndrome was really real because first of all, it was like it was saying, who are you to share anything like this with anybody?
Speaker C:Number two, the social programming was with mental illness, with depression.
Speaker C:Specifically, the social program is if you've got depression, there's nothing you can do about it.
Speaker C:And I was actually figuring out, figuring it out and overcoming it.
Speaker C:So I had the imposter syndrome about that, like, yeah, well maybe it's just not real for you.
Speaker C:Maybe it wasn't a legit thing.
Speaker C:Nevermind that it had been 10 years and then fully 12 years on antidepressants before it was like completely eradicated.
Speaker C:Right, but, but the imposter syndrome, that brain chatter was like, no, it's, it's different for everybody else.
Speaker C:For you.
Speaker C:It just, that really wasn't legit.
Speaker C:So I fought those voices.
Speaker C:Well actually I didn't fight them too much in the beginning because I didn't, I didn't know how to do that.
Speaker C:I didn't know how to fight them.
Speaker C:So once I started to learn the skills to actually really look at the voices, listen to them and find out like what is really going on, until that happened, they won the day.
Speaker C:And so as I, as I started to learn how to master my mind, it took time, Absolutely.
Speaker C:It took time to like figure out and like be okay.
Speaker C:To like, okay, well maybe I can kind of step into that.
Speaker C:And so I would invest, I investigated.
Speaker C:Like, how do you even make a website?
Speaker C: I mean this was back in like: Speaker C:Right.
Speaker C:Like it's like, how do you even do that?
Speaker C:But I just kind of would dabble and then I would hear God say, I've got something more for you to do.
Speaker C:And I'd be like, no, no, I would just quiet it down.
Speaker C:So that's how the imposter set up.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:As a faith based entrepreneur, how do you see that connection between mastering your mind and walking in obedience to your God given calling?
Speaker C:Well, I, I had a really hard time even stepping into that call.
Speaker C:As long as I didn't know how to brain chatter.
Speaker C:As long as I didn't know what was really behind the brain Chatter.
Speaker C:So generally speaking, it's really easy for people to say, well, just think something positive.
Speaker C:If you've got a negative thing going through your mind, just think something positive.
Speaker C:Just be positive.
Speaker C:Right?
Speaker C:We hear all the time.
Speaker C:And what I started to understand through my, through starting to have a lot of trainings from other people and stuff, I started to realize like, that's, that's not the reverse engineering like we were talking about when, before we started this podcast, like, I really needed to understand what was really going on.
Speaker C:What was the message?
Speaker C:The depression?
Speaker C:Then what was the message behind no, you can't do this?
Speaker C:What was imposter syndrome really saying to me?
Speaker C:And, and when I found out the real message, then I could do something with it, then I could change, then I could actually step into what God was pressing upon my heart.
Speaker C:Sometimes I like to call it the rumble, this feeling.
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker C:So, but I had, I had to understand what.
Speaker C:And so that's what I love to help people individually.
Speaker C:Jewels, women entrepreneurs.
Speaker C:That's what I love to help them to do because it's so empowering.
Speaker C:It's like, oh, really?
Speaker C:That's really what's going on is like, I just think that I'm not good enough.
Speaker C:And what's the real truth?
Speaker C:Well, I'm a child of God, so I'm good enough.
Speaker C:Like, and he's going to help me move my message forward.
Speaker C:Right?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Well, in your experience and what you, the women that you've helped and all that, why does imposter syndrome hit Christian women in leadership roles so hard?
Speaker B:And what's that first step they can take to silence that inner critic?
Speaker C:Okay, so why does it hit the Christian woman especially?
Speaker C:Well, if you think about.
Speaker C:And what is he really trying to do?
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker C:Satan does not want us to tell other people about Jesus Christ.
Speaker C:He doesn't want us to spread the good news.
Speaker C:He doesn't want that because incarnate.
Speaker C:And so if he can convince us that whatever we have to share actually God has put on our hearts to share, if he can convince us, no, you don't have the qualifications.
Speaker C:You're going to make a mistake.
Speaker C:You know, whatever, whatever he uses, like if he to listen, then he's just made it more difficult for what we personally have to share with the world.
Speaker C:It's just hard to do that or it won't even happen.
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker C:And then we've got these people that we can specifically influence that are just kind of left to theirselves floundering, you know, whatever it is.
Speaker C:Yeah, so.
Speaker C:So I think that's, that's why he attacks.
Speaker C:Because women of faith, people of faith, like they know, they know Christ, right?
Speaker C:They know God, they know truth.
Speaker C:And so he's going to work a lot on them.
Speaker C:And then when you said first thing to do, well, the first thing is to get super curious.
Speaker C:A chatter.
Speaker C:So if that brain chatter says you're not good enough to do this, then you really look at it, you go, okay, is that true?
Speaker C:So that's a little bit of a Byron Katie, if you know who she is, she always, you know, is it true?
Speaker C:And then if it's not true, then what?
Speaker C:So I kind of have my own version of that.
Speaker C:But that's the, that's the easiest thing that I can say is you just get curious.
Speaker C:Is it really true that you're not good enough to do.
Speaker C:Fill in the blank and that if it's not true, what is possible?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Let's talk about the Power Shift.
Speaker B:The Power Shift Guide walks through five different steps to overcome self doubt.
Speaker B:Could you walk us through one of those steps and explain with our listeners how it can apply to today?
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:So what I just gave you and just being really curious, that is like the underlying foundational way that the Power Shift Guide will actually help somebody.
Speaker C:You have to have that curiosity.
Speaker C:And then understanding like one of the points is.
Speaker C:All right, let's imagine there's an obstacle in the way of you feel called to do and visualizing what does that obstacle look like that starts to take that obstacle and it begins to lose its power.
Speaker C:So, so often without even knowing it.
Speaker C:We all know that we have obstacles in our lives.
Speaker C:That's part of the plan for, for us to.
Speaker C:What we often don't realize is that we actually have power over the those obstacles.
Speaker C:And that power comes in recognizing what it is.
Speaker C:So give.
Speaker C:And then what is it saying to you?
Speaker C:Those kinds of things get into the subconscious and that is where we can really get really good at the reverse engineering that we talked about.
Speaker C:Like what's really below the surface that's really contributing to whatever is going on.
Speaker C:So that curiosity.
Speaker C:And then.
Speaker C:All right, there's an obstacle in the way.
Speaker C:What you.
Speaker C:What is it?
Speaker C:What does it look like?
Speaker C:What color is it?
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker C:That's how to have that Power Shift.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And you talk about the need for what you call a CEO reset, especially for women juggling business and home and leadership roles.
Speaker B:What does that reset look like practically and why is it essential for them to have it?
Speaker C:Well, it is, it is taking the brain chatter that is keeping you from whatever you feel God really wants you to do.
Speaker C:And it is taking that brain chatter and saying, all right, I am now going to be in charge of how I respond to this brain chatter.
Speaker C:So I always like to tell people, like, I am not trying to help or give skills to people.
Speaker C:So you never have obstacles.
Speaker C:Like, that's ridiculous.
Speaker C:If you're human, you are going to have obstacles.
Speaker C:What I want to help empower you with is the actual skills to move through those obstacles.
Speaker C:So when you know what that obstacle sounds like, what it looks like, what it's causing you to do, like, all of those things are in that Power Shift guide.
Speaker C:When you understand how to, like, really take the obstacle and make it like, oh, this is something that I can look at, something I can do something with.
Speaker C:I can choose how I want to respond to this obstacle.
Speaker C:But all of a sudden, you do have a reset as, as the, As a CEO reset kind of thing, Right?
Speaker C:Where you're balancing work in family life.
Speaker C:Because you all of a sudden can start to understand that, you know, what if the dishes sit undone for 24 hours because you really need to work on something here with your business, okay, it's going to be okay.
Speaker C:You're not less than you're.
Speaker C:You're not.
Speaker C:You're not worse.
Speaker C:Your value hasn't decreased because of that.
Speaker C:And if God says, go have a conversation with your child and put down your work for 30 minutes, you're okay to do that because you're not so stressed.
Speaker C:That's the, well, what's going to happen to my business?
Speaker C:Is it going to just fall apart and am I going to miss this deadline and.
Speaker C:Right.
Speaker C:But your heart is in the right place because you've learned how to manage the brain chatter, and you have.
Speaker C:You are confident and have empowerment to actually move through whatever the challenge is.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Now, for the women listening right now, this woman who, let's say she knows she's holding herself back, what would you say to her today to help her take that first bold step towards that next level of growth, both in life and in business?
Speaker C:Yes.
Speaker C:I love, love that question.
Speaker C:And the thing that I would say to her is get really curious.
Speaker C:What would be possible if you no longer felt held back?
Speaker C:That's it.
Speaker C:Just think about that.
Speaker C:Let that just mull around in your mind.
Speaker C:What would be possible?
Speaker C:Answering that question, what do I want?
Speaker C:Or what would be possible is what changed the trajectory of my world out of depression and into this space where I could do what God had for me to do that.
Speaker C: you would have told me before: Speaker C:I don't know who you're talking to or about.
Speaker C:Like, really, honestly, like, I had no idea.
Speaker C:I had no idea I had this in me.
Speaker C:I know.
Speaker C:Had no idea that God had blessed me and would continue to.
Speaker C:The skills and the ideas and the insights that I have gathered over the last 12 years.
Speaker C:Like, yeah, so that's what, what do you want?
Speaker C:What would be possible?
Speaker C:So I asked that question.
Speaker C:I was like, huh.
Speaker C:Like, I remember one day I.
Speaker C:I walked outside.
Speaker C:I remember where I stood in my sidewalk.
Speaker C:I remember what house we were.
Speaker C:Remember this thought, what if you could overcome depression?
Speaker C:And I was like, what do you mean?
Speaker C:Because I.
Speaker C:Up to that point, I, I was right with the social programming, like, no, there's.
Speaker C:There's nothing you can do about it.
Speaker C:Just keep on your antidepressants.
Speaker C:And that's better than not being on.
Speaker C:That absolutely is true.
Speaker C:And.
Speaker C:But then that thought just came in and I know God planted it there and that changed everything.
Speaker C:It was amazing.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B: shown me back In November of: Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker B:There is no way that is gonna happen.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Being swallowed by a well, sounds really good about now, but I just have to face anything.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:I was like, no way.
Speaker B:You know, like I.
Speaker B:Before people know it's a true story that, you know, I had to have help check an email at work.
Speaker B:I was not technically inclined at all, you know, and, you know, now I can literally say, look at what the Lord has done, because it is definitely not me.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker C:Isn't that so true?
Speaker C:Like, this is God's business.
Speaker C:It's not our business.
Speaker C:Yeah, this is his business.
Speaker C:And that's, that's one of the biggest things I've learned in just the last three years as I have.
Speaker C:As I'm going more public with this, because I just did it kind of as a side thing for 11ish years and one on ones with people just loved it.
Speaker C:But as far as, like going public with it to impact thousands, thousands of women, like, that's just barely, barely starting.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker C:And so that, that whole idea.
Speaker C:Go ahead.
Speaker B:I was going to say you, you have a Saying, go big, go play big.
Speaker B:What would you say to someone listening right now who feels stuck or small or who knows they're meant for more but can't seem to get out of their own way?
Speaker B:What would you say to them?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker C:Yeah, I would.
Speaker C:I would say, understand what.
Speaker C:What is it?
Speaker C:What's in your mind?
Speaker C:It's just in your mind that's blocking you.
Speaker C:That's.
Speaker C:Just get super curious, like, what is that?
Speaker C:What is that obstacle?
Speaker C:What does it look like?
Speaker C:What color is it?
Speaker C:What does it feel like?
Speaker C:What is it saying to me?
Speaker C:Just that we have to start simple.
Speaker C:Or I should say, I've really discovered that starting simple is so incredibly powerful when people are like, I'm a big picture thinker.
Speaker C:And so I think out here, like, okay, now what about 10 years down the road or whatever?
Speaker C:And that's helped me.
Speaker C:And it's also a bit.
Speaker C:So when I notice people get into that mode as well, it's like, oh, and I'm so overwhelmed.
Speaker C:I just can't do this.
Speaker C:I bring them back like, okay, what is it that you want?
Speaker C:And they tell me what it is they want.
Speaker C:And then like, but I don't know how to get there.
Speaker C:And I said, okay, there's one question to ask God every day.
Speaker C:This one question.
Speaker C:What can I do today to move my business forward or to strengthen the relationship with my child or my spouse or whatever it is.
Speaker C:Fill in the blank.
Speaker C:But what can I do today?
Speaker C:Not what should I do?
Speaker C:We don't do shoulds because that tells the brain you don't have any.
Speaker C:And we are.
Speaker C:We are created with agency.
Speaker C:God put us here with agency.
Speaker C:So when we say, what can I do?
Speaker C:And then we just listen and ideas are going to come.
Speaker C:And a lot of times they're like, stranger to like, text that person or call that person up or send a note or whatever, right?
Speaker C:We're like, that has nothing to do with growing my business or whatever, right?
Speaker C:But actually it does because God is the one that's inspiring you.
Speaker C:So that's.
Speaker C:That's where I like to, like, take overwhelm and just like, bring it in.
Speaker C:Like, okay, what's one thing?
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker B:Amen.
