Finding Washington - Richard Raines pt 1

Finding Washington

Richard Raines pt 1

For those that know me, and now for those that don’t know me as well, I’m a history buff. I have been since middle school. I just love history. Especially WWII history. But second to that is the founding fathers and the Revolutionary War.

One of my favorite of all founding fathers, is George Washington.

In fact, if you compare the integrity, virtues and leadership ability of almost any President since Washington, you would find most of the lacking in some sense. Especially in this day and time – don’t get me started. Amen!

Why am I talking about history and George Washington today? I’m so glad you asked!

Our guest today is Richard Raines, author of an absolutely great book titled, “Finding Washington: Why America Needs to Rediscover the Virtues of Her Most Essential Founding Father.”  Let’s just say this book should be a must read for every presidential candidate considering running for office. Amen!

Richard is not only an author, but a Professor of Christian History and Christian Theology, a former CEO and a former elected official (but we won’t hold that against him)…

First question, other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Richard Raines?”

Everyone thinks of George Washington as this “super patriot.” But, from what I remember, he was actually an officer in the British army and was refused a promotion because he was a “colonist.”  Is that right and what are your thoughts on that?

Washington’s first major command actually resulted in a surrender, correct?

How do you think this shaped his strategic planning for the Revolutionary War?

But didn’t he make a huge mistake in trying to defend Staten Island in New York?

We are taking with Richard Raine, author of an absolutely fabulous book, “Finding Washington: Why America Needs to Rediscover the Virtues of Her Most Essential Founding Father.”

Richard, Washington was involved in another major battle the very next year. Tell us about the “Battle of Monongahela?”

Folks, George Washington was – and still is – an American treasure. Without him, this nation probably would not exist. He did so much in the formation of this great country. From leading a ragtag bunch of individualists and using them to defeat the largest military in the world (at that time); to motivating the squabbling delegates from the states to finally group together and take a stand for Liberty; to helping to form the office of the Presidency as we know it today and take on the title of king… We owe him an eternal debt of gratitude.

I urge you, if you enjoy reading about history; if you have children or grandchildren that you want to leave a positive legacy for – order Richard Raines book, “Finding Washington: Why America Needs to Rediscover the Virtues of Her Most Essential Founding Father.”

TS Wright

Hello. My name is TS Wright, and I am the voice of the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and author/TV host of the God Centered Concept.

For the past 33 years I have been involved in Christian ministry. Ranging from ministry, teaching and coaching in both public and private high schools and college, I have worked with students, athletes and adults from all walks of life. I have been involved with a host of Christian organizations included but not limited to CRU, FCA and other outreach & church affiliated ministries. Also being ordained in Christian ministry and being both a biblical and historical scholar I have focused on Discipleship, Biblical truth, prophecy & historical theology. I have also authored 4 books, a journal and a devotional series which are all now in the editing phase.

In 2003 and 2004 the Lord cast a series of visions on my life as to what would become the God Centered Concept.

In 2016, the Lord called me to start writing.

In 2019, He cast another series of visions that has led me to now.

In 2023, I was led to starting Podcasting and through divine intervention found Pastor Bob. I became a frequent guest speaker on the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and being led by the Lord I have taken ownership of the Podcast.

I welcome all of you who are a part of the Kingdom Cross Roads community as well as everyone who is just joining our community as we continue to work to advance the Gospel and spark a Great Harvest.
