Living Your Dash & Leaving A Legacy – Jesse Cruz pt 1

Living Your Dash and Leaving a Legacy

Jesse Cruz pt 1

Freedom. That word carries a lot of connotations right now. It means many things to many different people.

Have you ever pondered the thought of “what comes next?” I’m talking about what happens after you die? If you’ve ever looked at a tombstone, you see the birth year and the year of death. Between these two dates, is a “dash.” That dash represents your life. Your life right now.

What does your dash represent? What kind of legacy are you leaving, or should I say, “living,” in that dash?

My guest today has written a book titled, “Live Your Dash – Discovering the 8 F’s to Freedom!”

Jesse Cruz, from upstate New York, is a veteran that served our nation during the Iraq War in the Army. He is currently the assistant director of the Ontario County Youth Advocate Programs, Incorporated. He is a speaker at correctional facilities and is also engaged in coaching sports. Jesse has a BA degree in Community Youth Development from Nazareth College and he is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Theology at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and hiking with his wife and children and their friends.

And he has a personal goal of spreading Hope by reaching over ONE MILLION people through his writing and speaking engagements!

Help me welcome to the program, Jesse Cruz! Jesse, thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to join us today!

First question, I always start off with this question first. Other than that brief information I just shared, tell us in your own words, “Who is Jesse Cruz?”

You say that you plan on putting Love into action through good deeds, based in Faith. Explain what you mean by that statement…

What was the inspiration for writing your book?

When did you first put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard, nowadays)?

What is the book about?

Let’s go over, briefly, these “8 F’s” to Freedom and how they are important in each person’s life…why “Freedom?” Why that word?

But before we do, you do not advocate just reading the book straight through, do you?

And by focusing on improving your dashes in each of these areas, ultimately, you say we will achieve our greatest goal, true Freedom, correct?

Ok, let’s go over these 8 F’s…

Focus Dash

You tell the story of focusing on ONE THING at a time. In your book, you use the example of simply being “on time.” How does that impact your life?

Friendship Dash – those who you hang out with will influence your life.

Fitness Dash – Your physical body will need to keep up with your goals.

Fun Dash – Many adults struggle with “having fun.” Children don’t have a problem with this (usually). If you have fun doing the task, it is more effective. You can also have “fun” just taking a break and relaxing.

Folks, this is truly an eye opening book. This conversation has sparked some deep thoughts in my life. As I said, I never thought of the dash on a tombstone as representing my life. Revolutionary, to say the least.

You need to get a copy of Jesse Cruz’ book, “Living Your Dash.” You have to get this one…this can impact your life and the lives of those you love in so many different ways – all for the better! Amen!

Profile picture for TS Wright

TS Wright

Hello. My name is TS Wright, and I am the voice of the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and author/TV host of the God Centered Concept.

For the past 33 years I have been involved in Christian ministry. Ranging from ministry, teaching and coaching in both public and private high schools and college, I have worked with students, athletes and adults from all walks of life. I have been involved with a host of Christian organizations included but not limited to CRU, FCA and other outreach & church affiliated ministries. Also being ordained in Christian ministry and being both a biblical and historical scholar I have focused on Discipleship, Biblical truth, prophecy & historical theology. I have also authored 4 books, a journal and a devotional series which are all now in the editing phase.

In 2003 and 2004 the Lord cast a series of visions on my life as to what would become the God Centered Concept.

In 2016, the Lord called me to start writing.

In 2019, He cast another series of visions that has led me to now.

In 2023, I was led to starting Podcasting and through divine intervention found Pastor Bob. I became a frequent guest speaker on the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and being led by the Lord I have taken ownership of the Podcast.

I welcome all of you who are a part of the Kingdom Cross Roads community as well as everyone who is just joining our community as we continue to work to advance the Gospel and spark a Great Harvest. By expanding our message to the NOW TV Network it is our prayer that we can maintain the same level of quality messages and engaging conversations that you have been accustomed to. We thank you for your commitment to this community and we ask for your support and prayers as we strive to glorify God in all that He calls us to do.
