Mr. Productivity – Mark Struczewski Pt 3

Today we have MR PRODUCTIVITY here to talk to us about handling productivity challenges!  Mark Struczewski is known as “Mr Productivity.” He is a productivity expert, speaker and online trainer that works with executives and CEO’s to help them gain control of their time by taming those distractions. This allows them to feel less of that “overwhelm” symptoms and to achieve a sense of freedom and to enjoy their lives.Mark has a productivity themed podcast called “The Mark Struczewski Podcast,” that has OVER 435 episodes!  Praise God! In his time with us today, he will share with you some strategies on how to be more productive in this distraction filled world. In addition, Mark is, in his own words, “Sold Out For Jesus!” Praise God!

Is LinkedIn a better value for business branding any other social media?

You talk about “Social Accountability.” What is that and how does it work?

I know, in my day, I’m in contact with people through the computer most of the day. Some phone calls. But mostly online. What are some of the advantages of that as compared to face to face meetings? AND, let’s look at the flip side, what are some of the disadvantages and things to watch out for?

Now, I was surprised to read that you, as a productivity expert, you say it is ok to watch TV or play video games?  Is that right? How can that improve productivity?

Now, earlier in the interview, you said that one of the top distractions is OURSELVES?  What do you mean by that? And, I guess, how can we “Fix” ourselves so we do not distract ourselves?

I read on your blog, an article titled, “How NOT to be productive.” That caught my attention. Basically, you said that you need to have the attitude of Winnie the Pooh instead of Eeyore. I loved that article. Can you give us summary of the tongue in cheek article you wrote?

I tend to schedule EVERYTHING on my calendar, on my phone. I used to carry around a pocket calendar, then moved to a day planner, but now, it’s all on my phone. Whenever I’m at the doctor office and they go to fill out the little card for the next appointment, even if it’s a year from now, I tell them, “No, I have to put in the my phone.” Because, I’ve been saying this for a few years, “If it’s not in the phone it is not going to happen.”

I have also tried the “to do” lists. But I have not had as much success with that. It seems like, from a list of 7 things, the first 3 get done and then the list gets added to for the next day and after about 4 or 5 days, I just trash it. I never have been able to just go down the list crossing everything off. Is that normal or is it just “me?”

That, I believe is on your website as you “BIGGEST PRODUCTIVITY TIP.”  Basically, it is to write things down instead of trying to remember them. I can’t agree more.
