Those Who Can't Teach - Shelley Kenow pt 2

Those Who Can’t Teach

Shelley Kenow pt 2

We’ve seen news reports about how the COVID lockdowns has detrimentally affected the aptitude scores of school age children. We’ve seen reports of how many students are still struggling in school. Those two years of the shutdown has set many students back years in their ability to use applied knowledge to their studies.

But there is also another group of students that suffered greatly. Their stories are not being promoted or discussed very much in the public sector. But that is nothing new. For many special needs students, their stories have not been that “front and center” that often.

The teachers tasked with helping these special needs children also struggle in trying to help them achieve success. The COVID lockdowns also affected them. There is just something “missing” with virtual learning that cost our children dearly during COVID, especially in the Special Needs community.

My guest today has been working with special needs children for over 25 years. Shelley Kenow is a certified special education teacher and author of a captivating book, “Those Who Can’t… Teach: True Stories of Special Needs Families to Promote Acceptance, Inclusion and Empathy.”

Get ready to be inspired and gain new perspectives as we dive into part two of Shelley’s incredible journey and the transformative power of her work! Amen!

How has this method improved their ability to integrate into society as a whole?

Why did you write this book, “Those Who Can’t…Teach,” and why did you feel it was needed now?

You worked with or know every family that is in your book, correct?

How did they initially respond when you approached them about telling their story in your book?

I read that many special needs teachers wish you would’ve written it sooner!  How has the publication of your book, “Those Who Can’t…Teach,” impacted teachers?

Has this also resulted in improvements in the children’s educational process that you know of?

During your tenure and during the writing of this book, how has this affected your Faith in God and your faith in man?

I know it is a sensitive area in education, but have you been able to share your Faith with students or parents along the way?

You also host your own podcast on Facebook and YouTube called “#NoLimits.” Can you share about your program with us?

Shelley, this is so interesting. How can someone order a copy of your book? Is it on Amazon?

If someone wanted to reach out to you for more information, ask a question or possibly do an interview such as this, how can they do that? How can someone get in touch with you?

I’ll put links to all of this down in the show notes below.

Folks, you may or may not have a Special Needs child. Whether you do or not does not matter, because I know that you know someone who does. Amen!

You need to drop down into the show notes and reach out to Shelly, right now. You need to be sure to order your own copy of her book, “Those Who Can’t Teach” right now. In fact, order two or three copies and share them with those you know. Order a copy and take it to your school and give sow it into a special needs teacher. They will be eternally grateful to you! Amen!

About the Podcast

Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast
Awakening the Church for the Great Harvest one message at a time
Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast is a Bible-centered program devoted to helping believers understand Scripture, discern the times, and faithfully navigate the spiritual, historical, and prophetic crossroads confronting the Church and the world.

Hosted by TS Wright (an author, biblical scholar, and Apostolic and Prophetic Teacher) each episode explores biblical theology, church history, prophecy, apologetics, Israel, world events, visions, dreams, and the unfolding purposes of God. By connecting the ancient truths of Scripture with the challenges of the present age, Kingdom Cross Roads offers thoughtful teaching and meaningful conversations designed to strengthen faith, sharpen spiritual discernment, and deepen understanding of the Kingdom of God.

The podcast examines the teachings and declarations of Jesus Christ, the messages to the seven churches in Revelation, the historical development of Christianity, the prophetic significance of nations and empires, and the spiritual condition of the modern Church. Episodes also explore influential biblical figures, overlooked historical events, ancient Jewish and Christian writings, and the remarkable ways in which Scripture, history, and prophecy intersect.

Kingdom Cross Roads is for listeners who desire more than surface-level inspiration. It is for those seeking serious biblical instruction, reliable historical context, prophetic insight, and a clearer understanding of where the Church has been, where it stands today, and where it may be headed.

At every crossroads, truth matters. Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast calls believers to search the Scriptures, discern the hour, remain faithful to Jesus Christ, advance the Kingdom of God, and prepare for what lies ahead.

"Now go forth in total surrender to the ONE who owns and reigns over all of creation and let the Great Harvest, begin!"

TS Wright

Hello. My name is TS Wright, and I am the voice of the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and author/TV host of the God Centered Concept.

For the past 33 years I have been involved in Christian ministry. Ranging from ministry, teaching and coaching in both public and private high schools and college, I have worked with students, athletes and adults from all walks of life. I have been involved with a host of Christian organizations included but not limited to CRU, FCA and other outreach & church affiliated ministries. Also being ordained in Christian ministry and being both a biblical and historical scholar I have focused on Discipleship, Biblical truth, prophecy & historical theology. I have also authored 4 books, a journal and a devotional series which are all now in the editing phase.

In 2003 and 2004 the Lord cast a series of visions on my life as to what would become the God Centered Concept.

In 2016, the Lord called me to start writing.

In 2019, He cast another series of visions that has led me to now.

In 2023, I was led to starting Podcasting and through divine intervention found Pastor Bob. I became a frequent guest speaker on the Kingdom Cross Roads Podcast and being led by the Lord I have taken ownership of the Podcast.

I welcome all of you who are a part of the Kingdom Cross Roads community as well as everyone who is just joining our community as we continue to work to advance the Gospel and spark a Great Harvest. By expanding our message to the NOW TV Network it is our prayer that we can maintain the same level of quality messages and engaging conversations that you have been accustomed to. We thank you for your commitment to this community and we ask for your support and prayers as we strive to glorify God in all that He calls us to do.
