Steve has been coaching, working in player development, scouting, and teaching leadership training for over thirty years. During his coaching career, Steve’s has won multiple basketball championships, been awarded Coach of the Year honors twice and is an international guest speaker.
His personal ministry is to encourage ALL MEN to know the Love of God!
He also encourages men to come to God and ask HIM for help! And if someone does not know God on a personal level, he shares that information with them also. How to repent of their sins, come into a relationship with God, forgiving others and coming into a deeper, more loving relationship with their wives.
Coach Done is passionate about using his life experiences in international recruiting, leadership development, championship coaching, and pubic-speaking to help others become more successful while implementing Godly character principles. First question, other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Steve Done?”
Before I get into some questions I have for you concerning your book and how you are helping men to know the Love of God…let me ask you a few questions about your background, just to set the stage for why you are doing what you do now…
How did you get involved with coaching basketball?
Is it true that the Christian Faith runs deep in the lives of basketball players, generally speaking?
How does that help you in shaping and guiding the lives of these young men on and off the court?
You were successful in coaching basketball for a couple of Junior Colleges in California. Is that what led to becoming a scout for the NBA?
I imagine many people think the life of professional scout is not exactly like it truly is in real life. Can you share some of the misconceptions of what people think to what it is actually like?
You told me that you have read many self-help books over the years and that you soaked up much of the philosophy that the world has to offer. But it did not bring you the happiness were looking for. Tell us about that time in your life and how the Lord changed it all around…
And it was during this time that you happened across this different “weekend process.” And after experiencing great results yourself, you now have a passion to share this with others around the world, correct?
Your recent book, “TIMEOUT: Rethinking Your Life Strategy – A Weekend Encouragement with Coach Done” is now out. Can you give us a brief synopsis of this book?
Why did you feel the need to write this book? Why now?
