How many of us have done something, knowing we should not have. Sometimes, it goes unnoticed. Sometimes, it is not only noticed, but it has tragic results.
In some of those cases, grief sets in. Serious grief. Self-blame. Shutting ourselves off from family and friends. Maybe, in some cases, even hating God for allowing whatever it was to happen.
Well, the scenario I just laid out for you, as familiar as it may sound to some, is from a fictional book titled, “Awakened By Grace,” written by my guest today, Darlene West.
Darlene is a retired corporate developer, program designer, and curriculum specialist. Though she grew up in and loved the restaurant business, her favorite regular job was being a Christian radio disc jockey in Champlain, New York. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in the concentration of fiction, as well as a Master’s Degree in Adult Education. And she has put all of those skills together in the writing of this great book, “Awakened by Grace.”

First question, other than that brief information I just shared, tell us in your own words, “Who is Darlene West?”
What inspired you to write “Awakened By Grace?”
Tell us about your main character, Franklin Franklyn. Starting out, he’s not a believer, right?
Is his character based on someone you know? Or just rather designed for the purpose of this book?
How does his granddaughter, Maggie, break through the grief and teach her grandfather a thing or two about Faith?
How long did it take you write this book?
How hard was it to develop the characters in the book, since this was all fiction?
Were there periods of time when you hit the wall? Writers block?
What genre does your book fit into? Christian? Fiction? Christian Fiction? How would you classify it?
How hard was it for you to find a publisher for your book?
Are you working on part two? Is this going to become a series for this story with Franklin Franklyn? Or Maggie?
Any thoughts on when you may publish that work?
